Association and Board
The CityInitiative Bremen was founded in 1995 as an association and is made up of representatives of the local retail trade, the local gastronomy and hotel industry, various service companies as well as cultural, economic and mobility institutions. The central themes of the CityInitiative are based on informing, networking and shaping. Together with the office, the course of the CityInitiative is set by the board, which in turn elects a three-member executive board. The latter represents the board. We introduce.

Stefan Brockmann has been a member of the CityInitiative since 2013 and on the board since 2016. He is also Vice President of the Bremen and Bremerhaven Chamber of Commerce. The focus of his board activities is transport and cooperation with other business representatives and associations.
Wilken Herzberg

Partner of Justus Wohltmann OHG
Justus Wohltmann OHG has been a member of the CityInitiative for over 25 years and Mr. Wilken Herzberg has also been a member of the board since 2021. Mr. Herzberg has lived in the Mitte district of Bremen for around two decades. That's why the city center is particularly important to him both professionally and personally.
Annika Reineberg

Owner of Wallhaus GmbH
Annika Reineberg has been a member of the City Initiative since 2023. For over 25 years, she and her company have been managing and developing properties in the heart of Bremen. One of her key areas of focus is the project development of the former savings bank site at Am Brill. Ms. Reineberg is active in various committees, including the Bremen Chamber of Commerce's Committee for Urban Development and Transport.

Tanja Bittner has been Head of Marketing at Bremer Tageszeitungen AG for 10 years. The development of the city center is therefore a particular concern of hers. Bremer Tageszeitungen AG has been a member of the City Initiative since 2008. Tanja Bittner has been a volunteer member of the board since 2025.
Susanne Gerlach

Böttcherstraße GmbH is the general tenant of 6 of the 7 buildings on the street, provides maintenance and subletting, and operates 2 of its own shops and a historical archive there. Susanne Gerlach is a member of the plenary session of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce and active in the committee for retail and consumer-oriented services of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce. Böttcherstraße GmbH has been a member of the CityInitiative since 1995.

Daniel Günther is the owner of the communications agency DIALOG Public Relations based on the Bremen market square. DIALOG has been supporting the CityInitiative for more than ten years and has been a member since 2021. Daniel Günther has been volunteering on the board since 2022.

Owner Raths Pharmacy
The Raths Pharmacy is one of the founding members of the CityInitiative. Mr. Thomas Real took over the pharmacy on the market square from his parents in 2015 and thus also became a member. In 2021, Mr. Real was also elected to the board.
Jens Ristedt

Owner of Ristedt Fashion House, Bremen
Jens Ristedt has been a member of the CityInitiative's board since 2000 and is the fifth-generation head of the family business. He is also actively involved in the Bremen Chamber of Commerce's Committee for Retail and Consumer-Oriented Services, is a delegate to the Northwest Retail Association, and a co-initiator of the Ansgari Business Improvement District (BID). At the national level, he serves on the board of the German Textile, Shoe, and Leather Goods Retail Association (BTE), based in Berlin.

Christina Schlüter has worked at Sparkasse Bremen AG for over 30 years, and for more than 10 years at the Bremen city center branch. She is also a board member of the Friends of the Bremen Overseas Museum. As a native of Bremen, the city center is very close to her heart, both professionally and personally. Her commitment to her city is particularly important to her. Sparkasse Bremen AG has been a member of the City Initiative since 1994.

Director of the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum
The Böttcherstraße Museums have been a member of the City Initiative for many years, and Dr. Frank Schmidt has been a member of the board since 2018. He has directed the Böttcherstraße Museums since 2016, along with the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum and the Ludwig Roselius Museum, two cultural institutions in the heart of Bremen.
